临行前两天 12/10
上周五参加的poster workshop相当有用。Scientific poster的核心是传递内容，所以follow a template不仅节省时间，而且更加准确有效。
早上早早来到办公室，使用哪个不需要校正的wind function做trend attribution时，整个人都傻掉了——之前并不知道（a）不同的Penman Equation都可以做attribution，（b）Donohue的方法并不完备。好在之前代码都有， 重新改了函数还是知道自己的改动是否产生正面的影响。这个生日真是记忆深刻，和办公室所有人奋战到晚上1点多，把所有的图都弄好了，之后就是填补poster了。
早上5点多就起来了，花了两个多小时完成了conclusion，remarks。8点到9点把introduction和reference弄完，intro最重要的是思路清晰。到了办公室之后花了15分钟把公式弄好，花了15分钟修改intro。给Justin和丹哥看，他们的修改意见都非常有用。下午开组会前回家好好休息了一个小时，并收拾好东西。事实证明太明智了，因为晚上回来再收拾就来不及了！
开会第一天 12/14
A super busy day. Arrive at Moscone center at 7:45. Lunch with Xiangtao, Yi Yin, Xi Yang. Dinner with Prof. Piao's group/old folks in 岭南小馆. CEE happy hour 8:00-9:00.
开会第二天 12/15
Arrive at Moscone center at 7:35. Luncheon of hydrology section, meet with Dan, Ke Zhang. Prepare for Justin's talk tomorrow. Dinner with CUES PKU alumni.
开会第三天 12/16
Arrive at Moscone center at 7:40. Set up my poster, meet Brutsaert, no time for lunch. Meet with Alps summer school mates for happy bar hour, and have dinner with Bostonian group (Dara, Guido group).
开会第四天 12/17
Rest day! Write email to Donohue in the morning. Lunch with Hydro group member. Go to the Golden Gate bridge with Bo Dong. Dinner with the CYwater hydrologists, meeting Prof. Tian.
开会第五天 12/18
Arrive at Moscone center at 7:50 with roomie Wei. Meet with Donohue. Lunch with Jiafu, Zhenzhong. Meet with Dan. Dinner with Niko, Colby, Julio in 岭南小馆.
周六返程 12/19
Get up at 9:30, depart to Berkeley at 11:00. Lunch with Hang at downtown, visit Lawrence Lab and UCB, California museum. Dinner with Emily, and she drove me to the airport. After the red eye flight, Colby and I met Elie coincidently at the airport, and Elie gave us a ride back to Princeton, which is super fun.
开会心得
- 效率。每天疲于奔命，没有有效利用poster和talk的区别，准备工作不足。
- 作息。这次整体非常不错，早上按时起。
- 了解自己的水平和其他人的差距或者优秀在哪里。关键是如何挖掘自己研究内容中的独特价值。
- 讨论。有效交流的并不多。但质量高就行。
- 文章。paper才是硬道理。general之后的一年一定要好好把握。
- social主要收获的是MIT，BU这个群体，还有Kaiyu。Wei不愧是女神 ，谦和平易近人，让人如沐春风，真是太喜欢她。Hang让我的伯克利之行虽短却很有价值。Emily是最温暖人心的朋友。
